Reminiscence of a previous cruise…Rescue!

This is from nearly a decade ago, when Fear a Bhata was Catriona, until we changed her name and registered her in Campbeltown. Note the original steel wheelhouse, which was on the boat when we bought her, as Catriona TT 79, which fished for prawns out of Tarbert Loch Fyne

Anyway, here we are towing the “Jane” who had a badly leaking stern gland, and whom we took in tow, to Dunstaffnage. We were in the Firth of Lorne, midway between Oban and Lismore…thats Mull in the background

Escorting us is the Oban Lifeboat, who arrived  a bit later

All these incidents serve to remind us that we need to have practised drills for as many situation as we can imagine. Of particular note in this situation is the ability to have easily availible emergency bilge pump, not just for ourselves, but for transfer to another boat in distress
